OUR LITTLE VILLAGE
Elsie Michigan
Elsie is Located in the extreme Northeast corner of Clinton County. It is has a mix of agriculture and industry. But it is most famous for it’s dairy production. Elsie is Michigan’s official dairy capital, hosting one of the largest Holstein farms in the world. Elsie has an annual dairy festival, which attracts locals and tourist from all around. It is normally held on the second weekend of July, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (we keep our Sundays clear for church). The Festival offers Ice Cream cones for about $ 1.00 each. There must be a quart of ice cream on each cone …it’s pretty messy around the ice cream booth if the weather is hot. Elsie has about 1000 citizens in the village limits but the surrounding community makes up a larger number and is vital to Elsie. Elsie is a great place to raise your children and to live. We are a proud group that’s not afraid to work hard. We know what’s important; God; Family; Friends and the community. Stop by and see a little slice of American Pie.
The "4 corners" and our only traffic light. "The bridge" It’s not used today, it still stands majestically over the quiet Maple River and the Elsie Dam. (This is a great place to watch and catch Salmon during the run) The "Old High School" The school still stands but it is now used as commercial property. The "Village of Elsie Home Page" A bit more about Elsie An excellent site for the history of ElsieHope you enjoyed your tour! If you’re in Michigan, stop by and say hello!
